Fellow Travellers

SPAFER
South Points Association for Exploring Religion is a non-profit organization that was formed in 2000 by Ken Forbes, Burdett Wantland, and several others who, following informal conversations at a Jesus Seminar, felt the need to have a forum in the US Mid-South to discuss and explore religious questions and issues.
Common Sense Christianity
Some call it Liberal Theology or Progressive Christianity. These are both good names, but can be confused with a political agenda–which this site and this movement are not about. So why not just call it Common Sense Christianity?
The Student Christian Movement
A movement seeking to bring together students of all denominations to explore the Christian faith in an open-minded and non-judgemental environment.
Foundation for Contemporary Theology.
An American organisation with the aim “To present the most compelling theological issues of our time and to promote in depth reflection by the largest possible audience”
Bishop John Shelby Spong
John Spong is one of the most strident voices of Americam Liberal theology and a strong critic of the fundamentalist right. Fans of Spong should visit his site where you can sign up for a new online service in which you receive a fresh weekly essay from him.
Ship of Fools
“We‘re here for people who prefer their religion disorganized,” says the Ship‘s editor and designer, Simon Jenkins. “Our aim is to help Christians be self-critical and honest about the failings of Christianity, as we believe honesty can only strengthen faith.” A stmulating and witty site.
London Spirituality Network (LSN)
LSN is a Unitarian run initiative, but they don‘t push the connection. They hold various classes, workshops and groups throughout the London area covering a whole range of different spiritual perspectives.
John Mann‘s site
This is the personal website of a SoF fellow-traveller (it would appear). The site contains a number of articles and reviews of SoF theology and Don Cupitt‘s writings in particular.
